There have been times, sitting in my study surrounded by the hundreds of books we own, where I have thought I should somehow catalog our little library. Generally, I convince myself that would be more work than I would want to make for myself. I have gone so far to organize and delimit categories. Field guides are all together near the hiking, fishing and other outdoorsy resource books we have; the science fiction is lumped together; auto repair, manuals and Formula 1 books have a home above the shelf with all the computer programming books. There is order, just not recorded anywhere. Until I found this: LibraryThing allows you to share a catalog of what books you have in your personal library. It is insanely easy to use and find titles. In the few minutes I've been playing around with it, I've started my list here. I may be tempted by the small fee for a lifetime membership and unlimited book listings...
