If only I could post the aroma that is filling my house from the freshly baking Challah bread. After a bunch of talk the other night about the lack of a nearby bakery to get super fresh bread every single morning, I decided to break out the bread machine. I really wanted to make a Ciabatta, but I need to get a sour dough starter started before I can bake Mark's favorite bread. Instead, I found a super easy bread machine friendly recipe for Challah, my favorite bread: 3/4 cup warm water 1 egg 3 Tbs. butter 3 cups bread flour 4 Tbs. sugar 1 1/4 tsp salt 2 tsp yeast Put in the bread machine in that order, it can either be removed after the rise cycle and braided and baked in the oven or just left to finish in the bread machine on the "sweet bread" cycle. It turned out fabulous in the machine with a nice crust on this sweet bread.
