An absent bus this morning is giving me a day for marathon house wiferly business. At this point, with little to do at work and an impending lay off right around the corner, I'm easily swayed into just staying home. With very few busing options, if I miss my bus or if the bus is somehow delayed or early, I simply stay home. I do have alternatives that would get me into work much later if need be, but with -15 degree wind chills today, I had no desire to wait or make the trek for the alternatives. This was such a busy weekend of entertaining and not having the time to do my usual routines, a day like today is perfectly welcome for getting the mundane tasks out of the way. I could outline how much I kick ass with a list, but suffice it to say, I kicked ass today. Some days, I am super-wife. And of course, I have my latest knitting project I've been working on to relax in between all of the other business. I'm making a terra cotta colored chenille throw. I must knit more tightly than others. The pattern I'm following calls for 6 skeins of yarn to make a decent sized throw, I'm already on skein #4 and it's still not even enough to cover my lap. I'll need to pick up a bit more yarn to have the size of throw I have in mind. I'm already thinking about the next blanket I'm going to knit, I need to remember to just move to larger gauge needles.
