Archery.2
My compound bow arrived the other day.
Thursday involved a trip to Phil's Archery located deceptively on Chartiers Ave. , when mapped online placed it around the corner from my parents house but in reality is located in McKees Rocks. There, the draw weight was measured and adjusted. On arrival, my bow had a draw weight of 37 lbs, no wonder I was having difficulty drawing out the arrow. It was adjusted down to a much more reasonable 30 lb draw.
Phil's happened to be right down the street from what used to be my grandparents home, the house my dad grew up in. So we took a ride past the house and through the neighborhood for a little Zieger history. It is a small white house next door to a funeral home. It seems much larger in my memory minds eye.
Last night we went out to the club's indoor archery range for some target practice. I was doing well from the first shot. My arms got an incredible workout from only a half dozen shots or so, they are tired and sore, but in a good way. Indoor archery is going to become our new winter hobby. After I've given my arms time to recover, I can't wait to get out to shoot some more.
