I have on a number of occasions expressed my interest in my family history and genealogy. I now have taken action on those interests and developed a family history site utilizing the Wiki. (Yes, I know, it is through the Alfa wiki). The structure and ease of use makes the Wiki an ideal platform for creating my vision for a site for a family history, not just a family tree. Each individual will have their own information page, each page will not only contain traditional genealogic records but provide a venue to share photos, memories and stories of deceased relatives (or of those still living). It will be nice to have a collection of memoirs, nicknames, occupations; those bits of information that may be difficult to find and piece together through traditional sources of records. At some point I will add a traditional family tree image illustrating the relationships between individuals. My hope is that it turns into a collective collaborative project of both of our families. It is set up so other family members (who have an account for the site) will be able to edit or add information they have. We will all be able to share and learn from each other and build a true family history.
