Well, that is certainly different
Yesterday, Mark needed to climb the borrowed neighbor's ladder to fix the alignment of our satellite dish, it was either out of alignment due to the large number of recent thunderstorms or the enormous oak tree in its line of sight is disrupting the signal. One of the front bushes needed to be trimmed a bit in order to get the ladder close enough to the house to safely climb.
This trimming turned into a, 'hey, we should trim these hedges way back anyway,' which quickly evolved into a massive undertaking of, 'alright, we don't like these particular hedges to begin with, lets just take them out.' The house looks naked.
I would much rather have small flowering shrubs than the large unmanageable yews. We are in the market for a dwarf cherry willow or some other delicate flowering diminutive tree. As well as some azaleas or similarly sized flowering shrub. I think under the other exposed window area I will try transplanting some of the numerous lilies from the back yard to the front.
This was originally going to be my weekend for painting the living room, it has become a gardening weekend. Which is fine by me.
I just brought in a lovely bouquet of fresh cut flowers from my garden: fiery orange tiger lilies, goldenrod false sunflowers, sunny yellow evening primrose, purple gay-feather and highlighted with pale green ferns from the patio. I love my garden, I love to be able to wander around the blossoms and pick a fresh bouquet to bring my garden indoors.
