State of change
Flux, it's the beginning of a new era of our little household. Between all the recent redecoration of the interior of our home, replacing the Spider of our first date, throwing away our very first earthly possession we purchased Together (a vacuum cleaner, it was a huge deal at the time, realizing if you're going to buy minor household appliances together, you're in for the long haul)... and now today, we are parting with the 125 gallon fish tank that has been in our living room since we moved in.
As much as we both enjoy being aquarists, we lacked the time to fully appreciate and care for such a large set up anymore. We're just not around enough and I started to have pangs of guilt for neglecting them. The fresh water fish have been moved to a much smaller, much more manageable tank that will less likely be neglected. The salt water fishes certainly are happier and we are too since we moved them to a more manageable system as well.
Now our huge living room will look so much larger with the main wall now unoccupied and empty. I plan on moving the two matching bamboo chairs with an end table between them onto that wall. I will order large prints of several of my black and white photographs of the Dogwood tree in bloom from our front yard to grace the empty canvas of space that is that wall. Eventually, I want to turn that wall into a gallery of b&w photos of our lives... I just don't have enough photos or frames to adequately start filling the space with smaller images.
