It is possessed!
Help! The dishwasher sounds possessed!
I'm not sure exactly what could be wrong, but something has failed. It started just two loads ago. Our usually whisper quiet dishwasher, as in step out of the room and you can barely tell there's a dishwasher running quiet, started to make the most unholy racket. I promise you that I did not put a load of rocks in to be washed, but that is what it sounds like it is trying to grind through.
It is our beloved. It can not fail on us! It was a wedding gift from two of our friends, the best and most thoughtful gift we could possibly receive. Honestly, I don't know how we lived without one for so long. Neither Mark nor I particularly enjoy washing dishes, it usually involved a contest of wills to who could hold out longer. We even frequently reached the point of having every single dish, utensil and pan dirty, going out to eat to avoid doing dishes or making more dishes dirty. We adopted strategies of hiding dirty dishes in the oven or in an empty cupboard for a quick clean up if company was coming over. Then this miraculous machine came into our lives, everything changed. There has been harmony in the kitchen ever since.
I had to provide precautionary warning before I ran it today, 'I'm going to run the dishwasher!' 'Can you delay it an hour? By then I'll be outside!' That alone is a clear indication this machine is creating way too much commotion in the house, let alone the kitchen.
Poo. I think it is well beyond warranty at this point. Hopefully the problem can easily be pin pointed and/or easily fixed.
