The strawberries available in stores right now are pretty wonderful. Nice and tart and red and the achenes are also mostly not yellow, which means the strawberries were actually picked while ripe. Mark and I enjoyed small strawberry shortcakes for a treat tonight. The addition of a little confectioners sugar to our cream in the iSi cream whipper was perfect as well, just slightly sweetened. If you don't have a cream whipper, get one, they are so much fun, I certainly put way too much cream on my strawberries because of it. We've had ours for awhile, mostly used for putting unsweetened dollops of whipped cream on our coffee. Mmm... strawberries... cream...
