All the kitchen bits we ordered from Ikea arrived today. I've been busy busy busy assembling our kitchen. As soon as all the new cabinets and lighting are installed, I will post some photos. Yes, new lighting is in there too. We'll have some little spots under one of the cabinets and there is a new 4 spot (each individually directional) halogen for over the sink. And a new pendant light for over the kitchen table, nixing the faux tiffany cafe lamp... it just doesn't fit into the stainless steel and black kitchen. We also picked up some brushed nickle curtain rods that fit nicely into the scheme as well. Oh, and the color... after much debating and finally just getting color on the wall to see what it would look like, Mark persuaded me to try the blue. Admittedly, he thinks it's not quite the blue he had in mind, it dried a different color than the swatch, it's slightly more teal than intended. But it does look sharp. All the stainless steel in our kitchen is just gleaming. The terra cotta will go in the hallway and up the stairwell, that will be my project next weekend. We've also decided on a textured paint for the living room, it's a yellowish brown suede. What's up with this run of repainting the house, we'll have a completely new look for the whole house in a weekend or two. Anyway, back to building kitchen bits!!
