bleary eyed blinking
Went to see Return of the King today, sans Mark, he did not want to brave the hoards of people on a holiday weekend, I can at least tune out the masses. So, I went with my brother Joe.
Wow, I am actually going to see this movie more than once in the theater and I'm looking forward to it. I rarely go to see a movie once, let alone have a repeat visit! I'll see it agin when Mark feels he's ready, when he feels the crowd will not be so overwhelming, we'll have to purchase our vip seating a few days in advance. That was the original plan for my brother and I, but we were informed the vip seating was already sold out through tomorrow.
It was a beautiful and spectacular as the first two, the grand scale scenery and music, just simply beautiful. I have my criticisms, yes, but few... like the lighting of the beacons of Gondor on mountain tops high above the cloud line, how would that be even possible... the scene sequence was quite dramatic though. I will also be looking forward to the release of the extended version, there is much that was left out. I left this movie wanting it not to end, it did not seem like 3
