Yet another Halloween where we have kept to ourselves. We either manage to be out of the house or under the cover of darkness in our home on Halloween. One of these years I might pass out treats... I still have no idea what sort of trick-or-treating levels occur in our neighborhood. I peaked out the window periodically and saw a trickle of kids each time. Nothing like the numbers I remember when I was young, when throngs of kids would hit the streets. My brothers and I would head out together. We would circle back to the house with our goods to weed out the 'crappy' candy, which my mother would use to restock her bowl and pass it out to get rid of it. There were the houses we knew reliably would hand out the full sized candy bars or fifty cent pieces. I did my own treating today... more shopping. More clothes shopping for that matter... I'm turning into such a girl! I did have a mission today. With guests staying with us lately, I worry on the colder nights if they are warm enough, since we turn the heat *way* down at night as we snuggle into our heated water bed under a pile of down comforter. The guest room gets chilly and we really didn't have sufficient warm bedding or blankets. So I did purchase warm flannel sheets and a faux suede quilt with rich colors. Who will be our first guest to snuggle up in the cozy warm bed?
