Garagity-goodness
Take one last look folks! The garage is never going to look cleaner!
I helped Mark out last night and tonight painting the interior of the garage. The floor received a two part expoxy-like paint that included paint chips to sprinkle on. Giving it a faux granite-style look. Well, the paint itself is a pale grey, the paint flecks are black, white and blue. Very psuedo-granite-like bespeckling.
The walls are white, an oil based paint for sealing masonry. Mark hopes this will lower the moisture level. Not that our basement is terribly moist, but with so many potentially non-rust proof pieces of car that he works on, hopefully it will make a difference.
But the end result is quite lovely, aside from the fumes from the wall paint, I'm quite pleased. So much so, that we are going to do the entire basement floor with the same product. It'll make it cleaner for sure, the bare cement floor seems to generate dirt on its own. And I'm for anything that combats sources of dirt in my home.
Pale grey floor, dark grey stairs, railing and doors with white walls in the basement. Soon everything that needs to be painted in our home will be. If I wasn't so happy with the palette of colors we choose for all the rooms* in our home, I'ld be tempted to start painting rooms again :)
*the caveat being the kitchen, when it gets remodeled it will get repainted, but for now I even love the color there too.
