An enjoyable day of family
Mark's mom and grandmother came to town for a visit today. Well, they came to have some car repair done in exchange for some yard work. So while Mark replaced the front passenger side cv joint and did an oil change, Sue and Mamam mowed the lawns, trimmed hedges and weeded the flower beds. I felt guilty that they were doing so much so I joined in, I like working in the yard anyway.
We also made sure to take Mamam to Whole Foods because we knew she would enjoy it. Mark and I cooked up a fantastic dinner for them as well from the fabulous produce, fish, meat and cheeses we procured while there. We also shared the reserve bottle of Syrah I brought back from my vineyard tour in Napa.
The only drawback of the day is that we didn't have the time to visit local nurseries to go plant shopping. Now is the time to purchase perennials while they are on sale to establish next years flower bed. We did plant the purple cone flowers Sue brought with her out of her own garden.
Tomorrow, I will finish the flower bed and get some plants to plant!
