Another glorious bright and sunny warm spring day! I *heart* spring! Just finished planting the remaining flowers in the flower bed I had been working on last week. I've tried my best to include a variety of species with overlapping flowering times so that the bed will be full of blooms from late spring through the fall. I also transplanted the Iris's from Jon_anne, which she had to leave behind when she moved, that had already started to sprout in their planters. With a trip to Janowski Farms in the near future, the potential for more to be added is a very real possibility. I have a preordained plan to select flowers and plants for the flower bed that will be on the other side of the rose bush along the wall, bordered on the other end by the four butterfly bushes we planted last fall. I did consider planting a mirror image of bulbs on the other side, for a sense of symmetry. But that would make it too difficult for me to just choose a certain number of species, I like variety, I'll delight in seeing a spray of clustered differing flowers. No, it won't be chaotic, just a bit striking and a little dazzling. At least I hope! If I had my way, the entire front yard would get transformed into a flower garden, maybe with meandering and winding paths through it. For now, I'll tackle one flower bed at a time.
