In our quest for food, trying to decide between pizza and a greasy little diner, we happened across a great little restaurant. This was more or less in the middle of nowhere in a town called Jackson. When we arrived we were the only people in the restaurant, the prices were a bit high but decided to go for it. This place was amazing. The food flavor combinations were unique and tasty. I ordered a pasta dish with fresh tomatoes, olives, huge chunks of fresh garlic and Parmesan and a salad with a blueberry/lavender dressing, which sounds odd but was incredible. Mark and Martin had a sweet potato soup with roasted chili peppers. Mark had a spinach salad with mandarin oranges, pears, macadamia nuts and some sort of dressing. Martin and Celeste ordered an asiago souffl with leaks (had a very olive taste without any olives). We all shared two desserts: a chocolate raspberry brownie (really rich) and an orange tarte with blackberry puree (yuummmmy!). We shared appetizers of baked brie, roasted garlic and red peppers and a black bean torta with avocados and spicy chili sauce. This, I think is the best part of vacations, try odd, out of the ordinary places or strange cuisines. Overall, a very pleasant evening. Mark: My salad was incredible, one of the best I've ever had. I hope to recreate it sometime. Maybe a nice letter to the chef will yield a recipe.
