The year in review, 2004
Posted by deb on December 31st, 2004 filed in Musings & adventuresOverall it has been a very good year, each year that passes is better than the one preceding it (hmm, I know I say that every year).
I became my own company.
I repainted just about every room in our home, even though we’ve only been in it for five years, change is good, change is easy in the form of a can of paint.
We started to renovate the kitchen, half way there, we’ve managed to put the largest appliances into a smallish kitchen.
We lost the Alfa of our first date and picked up another. The new Alfa has its own memories for us.
I got my motorcycle license. Scoot, scoot, scoot, as I make Mark proud.
A number of friends moved back to town after living elsewhere for a time.
I lost ten pounds. My life is so stress free I had no idea that my body’s reaction to stress involved reducing my appetite to little or none.
I learned how to knit and I picked up archery. I love to learn and experience new things and acquiring new hobbies lives up to my philosophy of doing.
The year passed by so quickly, which brings to mind another reason I enjoy keeping this journal, so many details get lost or set aside in the recesses of the mind, it’s nice to be able to go back and reread the what I write here, what Mark writes and what friends write.
I do not make new years’ resolutions. They seem like pre-planned disappointments. There is nothing from the past year that I regret doing or not-doing.
What adventures and new challenges will 2005 have in store? If the pattern holds, I can only expect more contentment, bliss and an even better year still ahead of me.
