Preparing for Thanksgiving

I am at home today, getting the house ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Mostly cleaning, but there is need to make a dreaded last minute excursion to McGinness Sister’s for certain supplies.

This will be the fifth year we will host our families for Thanksgiving in our home. I love that we have started a new tradition together. I particularly enjoy being the hostess and sharing my home with the people I care about most. Even though some family will not be able to make it this year, we will still have our home filled with family, warmth and the trademark deep fried turkey.

The new tradition also adds another reason why I love living here in my home town. Even though most of my family all live in the same city, we don’t get to see each other as often as we would like to. Our lives are full. But I am thankful for days like tomorrow that ensures a reason to get everyone together.
