Team America

Although not as funny as the South Park movie, I was laughing through most of this film. I had friends who didn’t want to see it because they thought it would make them not like Trey Parker. They had heard the movie had a pro-republican slant to it. I can tell you that, no, this is not slanted in that direction.
I loved that the theme, the metaphor running through the entire movie, was that America steps in to “help” other nations, under the guise of protecting them from the terrorists with weapons of mass destruction, while in the process killing their people and destroying parts of their culture. But it’s OK, we’re making the world safer, right?
I would recommend seeing this movie, graphic marionette porn and all.
This was the perfect follow up to watching Bowling for Columbine for the first time last night, which had been sitting on our dvr for a while.
