Somedays, I spend my work day cleaning up loose ends. Trying to finish up bits of smaller projects before I get into working on something bigger or of more immediate importance. I had a day like that this week and there are still a few stray strands that need to be brought together.

Somedays, I feel as if I’m treading water, waiting for some critical bit of information or specimens before I can move forward. I go ahead and do minor pieces of joint projects that appear piece meal, those of us involved each have taken turns alternating between tasks, completing parts the other have started.

I feel especially compelled to complete a job if I see that it is a task that would take very little time to do yet the other individuals on the project progress glacially slow, witnessing this hurts my brain. I may, at times, get distracted or chatty at work, but I still manage to get my work done in a timely fashion. I am still efficient and effective.

The point is. When there is a job to do, I just do it. And I don’t piss around.
