Almost on his way

Mark is in the basement and garage preparing for his departure. I’m sitting in the living room listening to and enjoying the industrious sounding noises drifting up the stairs. These are the busy noises that usually fill our home when Mark is working on one project or another. These noises are comforting. These are the familiar sounds of my home.
